#UpdateWednesday Roundup – 3 June, 2015

This is the first in a new series of posts I’ll be writing each week to cover the latest app updates on Android. The main focus will be on Google applications, hence the ‘#UpdateWednesday’ title, but other apps wont get left out in the cold. If there’s an interesting update that catches my eye it will appear here too. Continue…

Google I/O 2015 Musings

It’s that time of year again… Google I/O time! With less than a week to go until the 2015 keynote breaks I thought I’d throw around some ideas about what I hope/expect to see this year. There’s a few updates very likely to be announced, supported by recent leaks or increased chatter over the last few months, while others might just be wishful thinking. Either way I think they would all be welcome changes – so it should be an exciting couple of days. Welcome everyone to Google I/O 2015…

My Favourite Photos of 2014

2014 was the year I finally made some time to pick up a camera again, and I couldn’t be happier about it!

Android 5.0 Lollipop is the next iteration of Google’s mobile OS and it’s such a major step forward I couldn’t help taking the developer preview for a spin. Here’s an overview of the changes that mattered most to me. Take a breath, this is a long one… Continue…

Four Weeks of Technology Heaven

October is a notoriously exciting month in the world of technology and this year has been no different. In the last month we’ve seen new devices released by Apple, Google, Motorola and HTC (amongst others) as well as new operating systems announced from Google, Apple and Microsoft!

It’s a big haul and there is too much to go through in one blog post, but there’s still a lot I want to cover – so lets delve in… Continue…

Leap Motion Chrome extension update – they beat me to it!

It was recently revealed that there will be official OS gesture control available for the Leap Motion, including mouse/touch events such as browser control.

This is awesome and I have embedded the official video below so you can check it out. Unfortunately it does pretty much exactly what I was aiming for with my Chrome Motion extension!

Due to this I have paused development on the extension for a spell so I can see if there is any way I can integrate it with the new gesture control, and possibly fill in any blanks to make it more useful to the end user. Continue…
